RE: Shot placement with a muzzleloader?

As I've gotten older I've given up on shoting deer with anything bigger than a 7mm projectile. I wrote a line or two on another thread about 7mm-08 and the 280 Remington. During our regular season I...

RE: Shot placement with a muzzleloader?

The deer anatomy doesn't change with the seasons so any shot that will kill a deer during the bow season will certainly kill it with a shotgun or rifle. Its a safe bet to make your point of impact...

RE: The Mighty 7mm-08

I own both the 7mm-08 and the 280 Remington and love both of them. I hunted deer for years with a 7-08 Stainless A-Bolt and it's accuracy with factory loads was always excellent. I shot quite a few...

RE: sharpness of Muzzy blades

Okay, I'm convinced. Since my initial observation that another brand of broadhead seemed sharper than my Muzzy broadhead I'm now convinced that I don't need to change anything.

RE: sharpness of Muzzy blades

RE: sharpness of Muzzy blades

Okay, here's my problem, I live and hunt in NY where the bow season opens Saturday. Why I waited this long to post my question can be attributed to "oldtimers" I guess. My feeling is that even if...

sharpness of Muzzy blades

I've been bow hunting for nearly 20 years and I've been happy with Muzzy broadheads for years. Recently I had an opportunity to run another brand of broadhead across the hairs on the back of my hand...

RE: When will it end?

Let me say at the start that its refreshing to read different opinions on this topic that are reasonable regardless of the opinion the writer holds.
I'm a New Yorker who has hunted big game for...

RE: Tipping Outfitters

I think you have to tip your guide whether you've been successful or not. Of course, there may be some extraordinary circumstance that would cause you not to but universally it's necessary.

Paul, thank you for the response. Yesterday I took a drive to Gander Mountain to do some "window shopping" and while there I decided to pick up another dozen carbon arrows to match the ones I have. I...

I agree with most of the opinions posted above but would add the following. The whole point of the partition bullet is that of controlled expansion. When you're hunting a large animal like elk you...
