RE: What makes the 7400 SO in accurate?

I've got an older 742 Woodsmaster .30-06 and it shoots 1 1/4" groups at 100 yards with 180 gr. Failsafe bullets. That's plenty accurate for anything I would want one for.

RE: Birchwood/Casey perma blue

I've had good results with the B-C Perma Blue. About 7 years ago I reblued on old Winchester single-shot .22 rifle with the stuff. I applied it to the gun as the directions stated, and the finish...

RE: camp gun

I agree with Bigbulls on this issue. However I would be more inclined to go with 6" barrel on a 629. Or a 4" S&W model 57 Mountain Gun .41 Mag would fit the bill nicely.

RE: qustion about .17hmr

Actually, I said nothing about your Marine friend, how could I, since you didn't mention him until after the fact? But since YOU brought him up, let's talk about what YOU insinuated about him, since...

RE: qustion about .17hmr

First you state that you know all about gun safety, then in another post you state you want to shoot your .22 in your basement? My advice for you is to put the gun back in the box, lock in a secure...

RE: most powerful .22lr round

I'm inclined to agree with the CCI Velocitor crowd.

RE: Ignorance was bliss at the Wal-Mart last night...

Since we're being nit-picky here, then shouldn't "knowdgle" be "knowledge"?

RE: Scirocco's or Accubonds?

Stick with what's tried and proven in your gun. If you have good luck with the corelocks and are confident shooting them, why change?

RE: Copper Removal

I agree, after every shooting session. I have excellent results with Birchwood-Casey Bore Scrubber.

RE: first gun

My dad gave me my first guns when I was about 8 years old. He gave me a nikel plated Rossi .22 pump action rifle and an H&R Topper .410 bore shotgun.

RE: Second rifle choice?

Honestly? I think you should go with whatever cartridge you are most interested in, or comfortable with. Whichever cartridge suits your needs the best. For me to say any specific cartridge would just...

RE: Second rifle choice?

Having the a rifle that shoots the same cartridge as your buddy sounds like a nice sentiment, but even if you get the same brand and model rifle as your buddy's, it might not shoot the same loads...

RE: 300WM Vs 300WSM

The .300 WM seems to have a slight edge over the .300 WSM, on paper. In practice, I don't think the difference would be noticable, except the WSM would have slightly less recoil. If you reload, you...

RE: Simmons Customer Service?

I've never had an Aetec model, but I have a couple 8-point scopes and an ATV (All Target Variable) model. Never had a problem with any of them. Simmons makes excellent scopes for the price. But I...

RE: .444 Marlin vs. .450 Marlin

Those are some interesting thoughts on the subject. For me, the .444 Marlin would be more than enough 95% of the time. But I tend to lean towards the .450 Marlin in case that the extra little bit of...

RE: Tikka t-3 or Remington 700

I wouldn't get either because they don't have southpaw versions of those specific models. I'd get the Remington 700CDL in left-hand configuration. :D Oh the perils of being me.

.444 Marlin vs. .450 Marlin

What is everyone's take on the two cartridges? Which would you choose and why? (come on, it could have been worse, like .17HMR vs. .50BMG, wich is the better varmint cartridge?)

Sorry if this...

RE: remington 870

I own the 870 Express Super Magnum synthetic. It has never malfunctioned on me, ever. Whatever I feed it, it replies: "Thank you sir! May I have another?!"

Even as good as it is though, I have a...
