That may be true if you are using remington ammo, however if you go to weatherbys website and look at weatherby ammo using a 180 grain partion bullet it has more energy than your 7mm RUM

I think it depends on where you hunt also. Iwent on a spring black bear hunt in alaska last may and didnt have any problem with bugs and shot a nice bear.
