I was fortunate to hunt almost everyday, for some portion. Only had gobbles on 3 days of season. Totally a bust. No turkey for me...2nd year straight. But wait till next year....

Mouth calls for aliens

I just bgt. a 4-pack of Grand Slam calls from MAD {Lohman}. One mouth call each for the 4 main species..Eastern, Rio, etc. Are their really that much a difference in vocalizations between the species...

Well said! That tom can and will come from all angles, in front, the sides, and circling around your position from behind. You will need your head on a swivel! Minimize your movements, and be mobile.

I regularly hunt only a 15 acre area...limit out each year. In the woods or on the edge, it works. I know where they roost and pattern their travel routes. It can be done. Tony!

windy days...

On very windy days, 25-35 mph gusts, do the turkeys stay on roost longer and even shorten their travel pattern during the day? Today was a blustery day in NC...very little sounds and no sightings....
