I like the .270WSM or the old .270 Win. It has plenty of knock down power for deer and bear with a more managable recoil. Its all in what you like. The .30 is a great cal also.

That is a heck of a story. Coyotes usually are not carriers of rabies. Usually would paralize and kill them. Normal carriers are coons and skunks. Stranger things have happened!!!
