if its around 40 pounds 2117 might be too stiff, Im only used to aluminum arrows for traditional bows, so it may work for a compound.

I believe the overall arrow should be heavier though, for better penetration with a lighter bow

If I were you, with a 40 pound draw weight I would go with Magnus Stinger 2 blade heads with the bleeder blades. They are regular 2 blades with 2 other small blades for extra cutting for more blood....

I like shooting long bows better since I think they are smoother and more forgiving. A shorter bow is nice for hunting though and they are easier to point it seems.
