RE: Are these legal.

In any case, the device pictured appears to me to simply be a spring - designed to hold the trigger back. On a semi-auto, as we all know, the trigger must be pulled each time the weapon is to fire....

RE: so called accuracy loads

Ditto. The "accuracy load" is only a starting point (or, at least one data point). It is, for me, only an approximate indication....nothing more.

RE: Scope mounting height

Interesting thread. I must disagree as to the non-desirability of having the centre of the sights (or scope) coincide exactly with the centre of the bore. Of course, this is impossible, but as a...

RE: remington 700 youth

The "youth" models and the "adult" models are EXACTLY the same.....except that the length of pull is 1" shorter on the youth models...and the barrel is usually 20" in length (I'm not sure about the...

RE: How far will 12ga slug...

I agree that expansion of a 12 gauge slug is not nearly as important as with a rifle bullet. However, as to the concept that a slug is still traveling at "800 - 900" fps at 200 yards - this is very...

I use an indoor public range, operated by the county in which I live. A nice facility, operated by members of an area shooting club, on contract to the county. Nice bunch of guys - I haven't met...

RE: How far will 12ga slug...

Ditto what everyone else has said. As well, I'll add that the standard, Foster-type slug (as used in smoothbore barrels) runs out of steam not much past 100 yards. They usually lose enough...

Round nose bullets work very well. They expand much more reliably than spitzers, at a wider range of velocities. However, as someone mentioned, they are aerodynamically inferior to the spitzer...

RE: What rifle actions out there are forged?

Interesting question. However, the answer could well be all...most....or none. The forging...even of the Howa, consists of turning a basic hunk of gun steel into something roughly resembling a...

RE: Are you sick of the "Which deer caliber" Questions yet?

Of the choices you mentioned, the .270 Win. will give you the best flexibility, especially with factory ammo. That would be my suggestion, too.

RE: 20" Barrel Too Short????

Shotguns, as it happens, burn all of their powder charge (thus, achieve maximum velocity), within the first 18" - 20" of barrel length. So, as Scott Gags said, you are not losing anything, from a...
