Effect of limb shape/type

It seems like the difference between longbows and recurves are getting smaller. I was looking at the Bob Lee site and his takedown longbow and takedown recurve bows have very similar riser...

I am just a little ahead of you...I'd recommend going to the Arrows By Kelly website and looking at his spine chart and reading his tuning tips..they are basic and geared for hunters but worked well...

Draw weight

So what is the optimal draw weight for hunting?

Clearly it will vary from person to person but should it be the highest weight you can shoot accurately....but for how long....I shot a friends...

Thanks to all, I use the Selway stringer and find it seems safe and easy.

I made a "rack" out of PVC and some foam pipe insulation so rest the bow on the fadeouts either strung or unstrung.

String nocking points

Having learned to shoot consistently enough to try to do some tuning I rasied my arrow above my current nocking point...the arrow flew much better...amazing!

So I was ready to go buy some pliers...

Bow Storage

So I am shooting my bow daily (Martin Hunter)...do I need to unstring it daily or is it OK to leave it strung up?

Its not much work to string it but is a few minutes I could be shooting.....

First Broadhead help

OK, Have a Martin Hunter @ 42 lbs at my draw...shooting Easton 28" 2016 arrows with 125 gr field points...have found some feral hogs to hunt...and feel like it is reasonable to shoot 10 yards for me...
