I also shoot shockwaves--250 gr over 95 gr of clear shot powder.
These sabots are a good buy for the money as well as T/C cheapshots--240 gr. I took a doe last year with a cheapshot-broke her spine...

this past weekend of Illinois gun season I used my CVA optima and T/C shochwaves shot my first ML deer droped him on the spot at 40 yards he is a 12ptr which weighed 172lbs.

I have not practiced enough to shoot 200 yards.
I feel this is something you must do many times to get the feel before you try it on an animal.
I want to harvest an animal as cleanly as possible....

Well done! You have company, I got my first ML deer this year too.
Mine was also a doe taken at about 80-90 yards-spine shot and had to finish with a neck shot.
I hunt in Illinois...
