My dad uses a .243 and it gets the job done, hegot a big 12 pointer that went 223 lbs. last year and it dropped like a ton of bricks. I shoot a .270 however and love it.

I would definately take him if I had the chance because you never know what could happen. He may be a year older and bigger but that also means he is most likely smarter and better at avoiding...
