I've gone out every weekend since the opener in Eastern Iowa and Illinois at times. The birds are very plentiful this year. I am up to 45 for the year.

I hunt a lot of areas like that and I hunt areas that are big and wide. I have better luck in the large crp fields than I do the areas next to creeks such as filter strips.

Near Donahue which is about 50 minutes SE of Cedar Rapids. Lots of Pheasants. Lot of wild flushes but also quite a few nice points.

Good info from porknbeans. Jared, I live near Davenport. Ten miles north of Davenport their is a very big public hunting area. I feel since it is so close to a metro area, it gets hunted pretty hard....

Went out yesterday near Maquoketa, IA. Actually turned out to be a great day. Dog's were working well, pheasants were cooperating, that equals a limit of pheasant. Going back out today, hopefully...

Is anybody finding any birds in Eastern Iowa? If so, where? Seeing a few but I realize their is also alot of corn to be harvested.
