I am not sure how rare it is, but of the hundred or so that I have seen it is the first. I know a guy down the road from me that got 4 collared bears on a trail cam last year so maybe some see them...

If baiting is illegal you will want to check on attractants. In Wa both are against the law.

Mix equal parts of liquid smoke and vanilla extract into a spray bottle. Spray the brush and high branches everytime you enter your bait site.

"They come to eat" is a great video and the last bear/scene is the greatest. The only thing wrong to me is that it is shot on ranches and you can even see a tag in at least one bears ear.

My brother and I "lost" our permits and drew nada. My wife "lost" a buck permit and drew nothing. My buddy "lost" nothing and drew a Quinault bull.

Usually if bait is illegal, then scents are illegal as well. Check with F&G/DNR. Your bow set up will work fine. Use a solid broadhead and only a broadside shot. I use predator calls all the time and...

Fish eating bears in Alaska are nasty.....

If you are shooting from a tree stand I would say shoot the heaviest/sturdiest fixed blade your bow can handle. Too many potential problems with mechs in my opinion.

I have Rytek's book....definate must have. AndI have done the Hi Mountain kits sold through Cabela's. I usually do 90 lbs of sausage every year and it is all good.
