make up a dummy round just starting the bullet in...

make up a dummy round just starting the bullet in case, load into the chamber & push bolt closen & lock.
this will tell ya exactly the length OR buy the gauge.

The one I've settled on( 50gr. varget,.30 vegtable patch then 405 gr. lee cast 458 dia. bullet) got plenty of punch & recoil is good. any questions e-mail me & I'll do my best to help. GB50

I find 405 cast(lee mold) on top of 50 gr. Varget with cabels's fiber wad between bullet & powder, has been working well for me. GB 50

:)I agree with the 44 mag. BUT if you are thinking of something bigger(454) shoot one befor you buy.
Ther is quite a bit more bustin with 454 than there is in a 44.Just tryen to save ya some money...

ALWAYS! use a fiber spacer between powder &CAST bullets to keep fire away from bullet.
Cabellas has a vegetable fiberdisk for about 16.00 ? per thousand. I find those very easy & clean to use also...

If the blades will come off, you can use a retractable razorblade scraper. just remove the singgleblade razor from the scraper & insert your blade. This has worked for me in the past,Just dont apply...
