I had the same problem and found it to be that the site was not level with the riser. If you are using the level in your site and it is off you will be canting the bow causing the left/right...

I just put on an HHA Optitune dart tn1000 drop away rest and think it is awsome. No noise or fletching contact, fully adjustable and absolutly no play or wiggle in it at all. This rest sells for $50....
