Personally,i think if a buck finds a doe in estrous in july,he's going to breed her.A buck is in rut from the time his antlers harden until they fall off.The cooler weather and shorter days trigger...

I also shoot an mq1 and took my grip off.I wrapped it with tennis racket grip and i am impressed with my accuracy.The tape made it more comfortable without adding lots of bulk.

I have used rock salt.Tie the end of a pants leg and fill it with rock salt,then tie the other end and hang it in a tree.When it rains the salt gets deposited on the ground and the deer tear it up!!

Go with gutshots reply,spintesting is a start.Sometimes your inserts fit loosely and are not perfectly aligned causing your heads to canter,its not noticable with field points.
