I'd say leave it alone. As someone else said, if something broke off *after* you shot him, that would be different.

RE: simmons scopes

I'm not going to argue with someone who says they want something better. To each his own. I don't feel like spending a house payment on a scope. Maybe some do.

I dispute the claim, though, that...

RE: simmons scopes

To each his own. I've had some that came in 'package deals' on 22's, etc. and they're nothing to get excited about.

Not all Simmons scopes are the same.

I would not classify the Simmons Aetec Master Series as 'junk' like many seem to feel all of the Simmons are. The Aetec Master Series may not be the best...

RE: Bushnell Elite 4200

If there's a better scope out there for less than $350 I sure haven't seen it.

I don't have any problem with the length or weight of the 3x9, but I do have a 4200 6x24 and that's about the same...

RE: compare browning a bolt to ruger 77 or remington 700

Personally, I prefer Rugers.

1st off, Rugers are built like tanks. Overbuilt, if anything. Not something I'd ever be worried about falling apart or blowing up on me.

I also love the fact...

Don't see how you can really go wrong with a 7 mag. Plenty enough 'oomph' for just about everything without excessive recoil. Great round.

RE: What Caliber would you pick for deer/elk/moose???

2.257 Weatherby Mag -- deer, maybe elk. probably...
