I'm a big fan of BDC reticles. Have Burris 3-9x40 Ballistic Plexes on both of my 7mm-08 rifles. They have BDC scopes designed for muzzleloaders, don't see why it wouldn't work for a rifled slug...

I use one of those gun vises that I picked up from Wal-Mart. Stick the gun in the vise, aim dead center, fire one shot, reaim dead center, then adjust your crosshairs to where the bullet went in....
