I think terminology leads to a lot of the confusion. No way in the world Brian and Howard and Ron Leclair could shoot them little targets out of the air with a concious aiming system.

Up here in BC it is legal to hunt everything with a 40 pound at your drawlength bow. Grizzly Bears, Moose, Caribou etc. Except Bison. You have to have a 50 pound at your drawlength bow.

Hey Bard, Oregon has more bow shooters per square foot than anywhere. :) You should be able to hook up with someone pretty easy. I am with LBR, stay with a longish bow. And welcome to trad.

Killer, good on you. I think you will really enjoy a recurve. You have to remember there is no let off on a recurve so you will be holding what ever weight your drawlength determines. If the bow...

Through an eye injury, I have gone from left eye dominant to right eye dominant. I still shoot left but am learning slowly to shoot right. Just think it is a good idea.

Wahya, it is definetly one of them laws that are gonna make ya try to stay on the wardens good side. I kinda like the sound of the law but man it sure is full of holes huh? :)

Weight wise it is adequate but better check with you game regs to make sure it is legal. Has to be 40 ponds at archers draweight here in my part of the world.

c903, what does over-flexing do to the bow?

When I build a self bow I start by BH so my feathers just clear the riser. Usually about 6 - 61/2 inches.

Yup I play with my brace height. Like to have the bow as quiet as I can at as low a brace as possible.

I am unsure why bowyers have a minimum brace height recommendation.
