Yes the 22-250 works great on deer. I have used it and personally know several people who have used it with great success.

It is all bullet choice and shot placement.

I believe it is a Bobcat. The tail is way to skinny to to be a mountain lion. In the larger picture the ears appear to be more pointed, and there appears to be spots on it's belly.
