Rule of thumb I use the length of the bird (mallard size) is less than the width of may barrel (12 gauge) it is too far away. A teal is about half a barrel width. A goose is about twice barrel width.

Use a net to catch them, and you can tie a drag device so they don't fly too far, I am assuming you are teaching him to flush/point. Pigeons are not as good as real pheasants, but they will keep your...

This is my pup Barney and he is light but I have no problem with keeping him clean or smelling good. If the pup is being fed well the coat will have slight oil to it, which helps to keep dirt form...

Get some pigeons. You can usually find a place to trap them near by, an overpass is a great spot. If you have the space you may want to build a coop and raise some so you have a steady supply.

Get some coroplast, it is used to make outdoor signs, it is light-weight, waterproof, comes in sheets 24"x36" use 4 or 6mm thickness. Draw out your pattern on the sheets, cut them out & attach them...
