thanks Rugar,

yea the bolt or pin stays back when i pull it back. I then can load the primer, however the bolt wont slide of go forward unless the safty is released and the trigger is squeezed....

JPS,

A friend of mine has a protec 2000 and 2001 which seem to eat the top limb saver on a regular base. I have a 2001 Ultratec and mine eats them as well but not at the rate his eats them.

It sounds like your hitting your rest with the vanes.
If you are using a hunter rest that is.
The feathers are a lot more forgiving.
Check the clearence of the vanes thru the prongs for contact...
