Two Maine Black bear hunts

As much as it pains me I'm going to miss my Maine black bear hunt. There have been two spots reserved on which I made a deposit of $600. $2110 is due upon arrival. You can buy the hunting license and...

RE: Goldtip arrows

I've tried both and still use the Pro Hunter. I can't tell the difference either. When I need new arrows I'll save the money and go with the XT's. I'm sure they are both capable of better accuracy...

RE: 3" groups @ 25 yds?

I agree with the comment on "internet archers" I always hear about the tight groups but most of them equate to the 300/60x already mentioned. I practice out to 30-35 yards and that's what I limit my...

RE: Bowtech Extreme VFT

I used to get a new bow every year. I have a 2003 Extreme VFT, I have no plans to get rid of it for any new bow.

RE: Magnus Stinger, 100gr 4 blade (WOW!!)

I use the 100 grn Stinger 4 blades shooting a 405 grain arrow out of my Bowtech Extreme VFT at 70 pounds. I don't know what speed I'm shooting but I can tell you it's fast. The Stingers hit right...

RE: Teaching an old dog a new trick ( Release Question)

I can't comment on the back tension because I've never used that type of release. I also started using an index finger mechanical release a few years ago. This spring I switched to a handheld thumb...

RE: Fanny packs

I can second the Bass Pro fanny pack. It is the best I've used and the price is hard to beat. I got mine off E-Bay for about $20.
It also has the hydration bladder which is great.

RE: T-handle releases for hunting

I use a Pro Diamond and love it. I hate wrist releases for no other reason than it's a pain to set up consistantly depending on what clothing you're wearing.

RE: Naturalgear Camo

I used Natural Gear all of last season. I had a buck walk within 10 yards of me as I stood in an open field without a clue that I was there.
I also use military surplus early season when the...

RE: Anyone shooting the Montec...

I use the Montecs. sharpened them with sandpaper. They still didn't feel as sharp as other broadheads but in March I shot a nice big boar, complete passthrough, alot of blood and he only ran about...

Got my Bowhunt America Axis arrows today

Got them FedEx today!! I've refletched arrows before but this is the first time starting from raw shafts, everything was included.

RE: Unorthodox camo patterns??

I use Natural Gear and love it. I also have Mossy Oak which works fine early season but I think is too dark once the leaves fall and the woods become much lighter.

I actually got caught...
