There are lots in the Chesapeake Bay. Some Captains will do a cast n blast. You get a big Striper in the AM and hunt Sea Ducks until your arm falls off.

It can get real cold up there in Dec. Bring your snuggies. Guys I was with last year said it was -40 or colder in Dec, 2003. They talked about blood being frozen on the Bou by the time they walked...

Looks about the same as last year. You can't really tell untill the Tioga Highway shows up on the Map. I will try to interpret and am going up for the first hunt on the 15th of Nov.

Not being prepared. Met a guy who drove 2,500 miles for a Caribou hunt in Northern Quebec last year. He had an ecclectic load for his rifle and arrived with only 6 bullets. After a couple of misses...

Bringing a Bow across won't be a problem. Let the customs guy know what you have. They were very helpful and polite last year.

The Maps are difficult to interpret until you have been up there. I kept asking TerryM to interpret them for me last year. The camps are all along the Trans Tioga Highway which is further south...

I would stay away from VANISH too. I have found it is brittle and fishes poorly. I found that 15 pound test leaders fished like 10 pound test on Salmon. If you want Flouro leaders I would try...

Last year they were $295 Canadian. This was for two Bous. There has been talk of increasing it to three Bou to cull out the herd a little more. Don't know if they will though.

Stayed at the Nouchimi outpost. Not too fancy but just what we needed. Mirage was quite nice, we checked it out on the way out.

One feature that is really nice to be able to download waypoints to the GPS unit. Try a Garmin Legend (about $160). You also also send Topo maps or Bluewater charts to it too.
