RE: OHIO GUN SEASON.... PLEASE POST REPLY

Got two urban does during gun. One on Monday, the other on Sunday. Saw about 15-20 each day I was out. My wife got a three-legged buck, some would call it an 8-point, some would call it a spike...

RE: Is Driving deer is really " hunting" ?

No, I don' t perceive stand hunters as ranch hunters, because I spend 50-60 days a year during bow season in a stand " hunting" as you say.
And no, I don' t have a 4-wheeler, stand, or coffee. ...

RE: Check out the buck I killed on Thanksgiving morning

Nice buck. Score, I' d agree around 110-115, but who cares you are the one would got the Big Boy in the area. That means a heck of a lot more than shooting a high scoring buck anyday. ...

RE: Is Driving deer is really " hunting" ?

I don' t understand how someone could be sitting in a metal climbing stand, wearing super-insulated DOW chemical created carbon clothing, with a 100th generation compound single-cam bow in their hand...

RE: Never stop looking for that Deer!!!!

Congratulations on tracking the deer until the end. We had a 170-class deer on the property we hunt that was shot by a guy who was a friend of the owner. The deer came in about 15 yards on his tree...

RE: Awesome Picture

It' s from the fire in the Bitterroots in Montana in 2000. Picture was taken by a firefighter and was downloaded on his computer, then one of his coworkers e-mailed it to a friend, and the rest is...

RE: Rattle Bags or Rattle Horns

Only the real thing. Just doesn' t sound like two Ohio brutes fighting it out otherwise.

RE: If deer smell so good...why even use a cover scent?

I used to believe that all of the scent-elimination clothing was a bunch of BS, until this year when my wife got me a suit for Christmas. I have never seen so many deer, and more downwind than not. ...

RE: What' s the weirdest thing you have ever seen while hunting in the woods?

Weirdest was definitely was when I was turkey hunting. They were calling for rain, but what came through was a massive thunderstorm. Trees were bending over, limbs flying off. I was in a strip of...

RE: Deer Drives

We' ve always done both. Only do three or four " still-hunt" drives all day long. Just stand upwind for 10-20 minutes then the drivers still-hunt towards the standers. Best of both worlds, the...

RE: Hunting and Thanksgiving

Just consider yourself lucky. In Ohio, you only get one tag in most cases for all seasons in most parts of the state. I always go out on Thanksgiving, although I' ve never actually seen anything...

RE: Shoulder or Double lung

The only thing I have to add to the decussion is that I' ve taken out clay pigeons (on the ground, not flying through the air obviously) at 200-300 yards with the 30-30 shooting off a crook in a...
