1973 Browning Belgium Bar Clip Issue

Guys I have a 1973 Browning Bar in 300 win mag made in Belgium. It has the swing open clip. For some reason the clip will only open about half way. Any ideas as what is going on?

I suggest getting all your fletches white. And put some white cresting on them. It makes finding them easy. And it did not seem to bother the deer I killed this weekend.
