No, ACC's are not lighter than pure carbon arrows. They tend to run just a tad bit heavier per inch. However, their spine consistancy makes them VERY accurate.

I shoot 5gr/lb arrows all the time...

Also, you need to take the time to make sure that the WB disc is perfectly parallel to the string. I have found on several different bows that the arrow should be perpendicular to the string.
