I always used mod. or IC choke shooting heavy dove loads in 7.5 or 8. If they're getting up too far out, switch over to the full choke and hammer 'em! I don't think I've ever used a high brass load...

My wife and I do all of mine. We debone and slice the better cuts into steaks, the rest goes into the grinder to make burger/sausage. The dog even gets a couple nice bones to gnaw on for a while.

My boss is very recoil sensative. He shoots a 7-08 that has a mercury recoil reducer and a good recoil pad. I didn't even feel it when he let me shoot it at the range. And it groups pretty darn good...

I wasn't too concerned about how it holds together on deer. The deer we have around here are pretty small, and even if the bullet sheds it's core, there should still be enough mass to get a good exit...
