Was just last week, right at dusk had a hog walk into my set up from the wrong direction, was still light enough to make out the hogs form and see when at full draw, I came to full draw,hit my anchor...

I would use Beechwood stock finish, you can get several light coats on in a day,it completely seals, let it set for a day or two and cure. Lot of good stuff on the market these days.
