Great choice on the SAKO.

I dont think you can go wrong with zeiss or leupold. I went with the zeiss conquest..it was brighter to my eyes and I liked the reticle better, the fast focus and it even comes with lens...

I am somewhat out of my leauge here but i believe the reticle changing sizes is do to it being in the 1st image plane. retilces in the 2nd plane do not change sizes...

try the beretta gallery in dallas texas, thats where i ordered my whitetail hunter from. It was the only place in 5 states that had the exact gun I was looking for.

ANyone have a favorite rifle case for airline travel. I would like to spend less than 150$ So that eliminates pelican/browning although those are really high quality

I think if I could afford the top end zeiss I would get it. It will be better in low-light(darkness) than just about any scope in the world (swarovski and nightforce are also excellent).

I said it earlier and was right. I knew leupold would be the favorite. They make a great product but I am with the zeiss people. The conquest line affords a larger number of people to buy zeiss now...

1) they have a loyal following
2) the make good products at the lower end and in the middle and towards the high...

Herman I went to thje range today. I shot a .502" group at 100 yards with hornady 150 gr SST' s and a .724 " group with 7.62mm FMJ. No 5" groups for sure. I also had a friend test the factory...

by the way, the new Tikka T3 will have a long action only and will incorporate dofferent length bolt stops to meet the mength of a 308 or a short magnum. so you wont have a short action. I dont know...

FWIW, I have had a tikka 308 stainless for about a month. I have never bought a factory rifle that had a trigger this good or a bolt that was so smooth. It also shoots damn good
