RE: 130gr. 30/06 bullets for deer?

I have loaded Speer 130 grain HP in an '06 for deer but I had to limit shot placement to head and neckshots because at almost 3000 fps (measured) the tend to blow up on impact and penetration is only...

RE: Is "Lee" reloading equipment any good?

Lee is the bottom price equipment. Just like the bottom price car it will perform within its design parameters but if you want to race you have to spend more money. I started loading with the Lee...

RE: .257 Roberts?

bige1769,
Try 46.5 grains of IMR 4350 with an overall length of 2.78 inches (tip to base) that will give you about 3000 fps and is near maximum so work up to it. For IMR 4895 you will give up some...

RE: store bought 3o/06 load for woodchucks?

You can get 110 or 125 grain loads that will be great for varmints as long as you don't need the pelts. If you are looking for good pelts then use the 168 grain target rounds - they pencil through...

RE: Best dies for .257 Wby mag?

OldTargetShooter,
The best dies are specialty dies like the Wilson dies and the next choice would be Forster dies. If you want the best these are what you are after. If you want good then any of...

RE: Powder switch

Elksniper,
I switched from Winchester powders the third time they deleted the powders that I was using in favor of a new powder. I find more stability with the Hodgdon brand and a better range of...

RE: Does this hold true even for hunting loads?

Toby,
In my 31 years of reloading the only rouns that I crimp are magnum pistols and autos. I can see where it MIGHT be necessary to crimp magnum rifle rounds or ammo for tubular magazines. My...

RE: 300 win mag troubles

Jed,
I am not familiar with Smith and Wesson rifles but if this is a pump or auto you may need "small base dies" to bring the cartridge base down to "factory" dimensions. If there is a recall be...

RE: Reusing brass from bulk ammo

WThunter,
If you are loading it just for casual shooting or practice round it will be fine. If you are going to use it for serious shooting then separate it into brand and headstamp, prepare it and...

RE: Reloading .410 on a rifle press??

Hunter,
With the right powder (RX22 comes to mind) the 200 grain bullet can be pushed into the upper 2850's for excellent downrange ballistics.
