I tried Muck damn near froze. Bought a pair of 2000G Comfort trac from Cabelas and couldn't be happier. I live in Northern Manitoba and know what cold and swamp are.

I tried the nickle for my 30:06 and it worked well until I had to trim and then the nickle flaked at the mouth. Gone back to brass.

Just bought a pair of Motorola Talkabout T6220, work well. Went to this model as it has the vibrate feature so it doesn' t ring when on stand. It still makes noise but not as bad as ringing.

Last fall I went with a group that made one of the nicest meals I' ve had while in the bush.
They brought a cooked ham and put it in a big pot with water in the bottom and cooked it on the propane...

Your right it is a lot of work but it is possible. Sort of like remodling the kitchen, possible but not likely to happen.

Tough question. I've had Winchester Model 70, Remington 700BDL, Ruger77, Husquavarna,Bruno and Parker Hale. The only one I didn't like was the Parker Hale.

Have a 375HH, recoil no worse than a 30:06. Put on a muzzle brake. At the range last weekend and tested 7 different loads at 5 shots each.
Definitly need ear protection but I got such a good deal...

I was told that post 64 Winchesters were made until 1970 and then they changed styles again? What did they do different? Mine has a G before the serial #.
