RE: remington or weatherby?

I was wrong on my earlier post. The Weatherby has a 24" barrel. For What its worth, I just had the same choice between a 300 Weatherby and a 300 Winmag Model 70. I took the Winmag.

RE: lever or bolt action, why one or the other?

Browning makes some great lever guns. I wouldn't hesitate to use one.

Contrary to other's opinions, I have found the Remington 7600 pump to be very reliable. In fact, that is my favorite...

RE: Hornady Interbond

I have only seen the ads. Since I like Hornady bullets I am planning to work up some loads once they are available in March and try them this fall. 150 gr in a .308Win and 130 gr in 270.

RE: remington or weatherby?

Take a close look at the barrel length on that Weatherby Vanguard. It is, I think, a 22 inch tube. This is too short for the 300
Weatherby. You loose velocity and get more muzzle blast. If I...

RE: One gun question

One gun only as a survival weapon, the 12 ga. is my top pick. If I could add a rifle for a second gun it would be a mauser action 308.

RE: WEATHERBY'S????

I believe that all the Mark V series are made in the US. The Vanguard series are made by Howa, and are designed for standard pressures. The Howa may be made in Japan, but it has one of the...

RE: Help me, .270 or 30-06

They are both good guns for everything up to moose/elk. I personally prefer the heavier bullets available in the '06 and 308 on bigger game but it really is personal preference. Whitetails do not...

You pretty much ripped apart my second favorite cartridge the 270. How about the 308 with 180 gr partition bullets? In that same vein any experience with how swift scirrocco's perform on elk? Or...

RE: First time tagging 2 deer in one year

RE: 308

I shoot both the 270 and 308 and have taken deer with both. The 270, 280, 7mm08, 308, 30-06 will all do the job. They have similar ballistics, with relatively minor differences. My favorite is the...

RE: Atwell, New York
