Never have field dressed a deer. Kill em and have em hanging in less than 15 to 20 mins. I get just the hams tenderloin and backstraps and i never gut em. Just make the cut and let the guts fall down...

Biggunz hit the nail right on the head. I' m not trying to make anyone mad just thought the 100gr was as big as you could load for a 243. Where did you find 115gr bullets for the 243?

zrexpilot, I think you need to go back and check the ballistics chart. You have it backwards......and when did the 243 start being available in 115gr? I' m not doubting the 243 just saying i don' t...

I agree the STW may be a bit much for small deer, like the ones here in Eastern NC but, I have a friend that shoots one. It is a very accurate round and usually puts the deer down for good with one...

If it were me i would go with the Zeiss. Leupold is a great scope and you can' t beat the service but i just prefer Zeiss. Go look at both and decide for yourself. There both excellent scopes.

I have the exact same gun with a 4x12x50 Swarovski and it fit fine with regular ole' Leupold rings and base. I' m not sure of your problem, you may need the offset rings the others are talking about.
