RE: Hunting Alone

Couple of friends have been seriously injured hunting alone but were lucky and survived. They now wear safety belts in their stands.

RE: Putting out corn!!!

Was talking to a game warden and he said they would be cracking down on baiting because of the CWD. They have been pretty lenient in past years because IL has such a big herd but said they want to...

RE: Hunters, anyone have their weapon fail while shooting at game?

Unfortunately, I have been a victim of malfunctions as well as of my own screwups:

was by a big tree when a nice 10 point, 2 does, and a nice 8 point came trotting by to my left at about 10 yd....

RE: big problems with my knight disc and ready throw it away

I use a disc with a long barrel with 3 50 grain pyro pellets and Hornady' s .45 300 xtp. It puts 5 shots in a 3 in. circle at 200 yds.

I ran into a similar problem with a regular rifle and...

RE: ruger super red hawk or the black hawk SS hunter?

If you're going to be hunting with heavy bullets, you might want to check to see if the cylinder on 1 is longer than the other.

I shot a super that had been worked over and had a great trigger in...

RE: B Square shotgun scope mount

Seems like my friend has an Aimpoint, Aimtech,????, on his and works fine.

Give Brownell's a call and see if they have one. If not they carry a scope mount to fit on your rib. Friend put one on...

RE: HELP- Looking for advice/ barrel for my Rem. 11-87

The Hastings on my 1100 lays 3 regular Brennekes touching at 100 yds.

It puts 5 Hornady H2K sabots inside a 3 inch circle at 200 yds.

RE: which slugs should I use

My 1100 with the Hastings barrel will put 5 Hornady H2K slugs inside a 3 inch circle at 200 yds.

Winchester has the Partitions and Platinum tips, Remington the new Core Loct, all of which are...

RE: Inexpensive scope

SWFA had Simons Aetec on sale for about 129.00. I use one on black powder and friend has 1 on .308. Quite impressive for the cost. You might want to give them a call.

RE: Are there any inexpensive sabot slugs>?

Brenneke regular slugs are the cheapest that I've found to perform out of my Hastings barrel. 3 touching at 100 yds.

Active and Fiocchi are supposed to also be good regular slugs for rifled...

RE: OK to remove barrel after sighting in?

A saddle mount introduces more variables with removal and reinstallation. Should you decide to switch back and forth, mike your front and back distances for height from the mount to the receiver and...

RE: scope problem

My thought is you're due for a new scope. Taking the repair costs, postage, time, effort, downtime, doesn't seem worthwhile. Give it to the kids to play with.

RE: Accuracy with Smooth Bore and rifled slug

It seems the Montefeltro and M90 auto, (black gun) can interchange barrels but might require a different forearm. You might want to call Benelli and see what you can find out.

Another option...

RE: What slugs do you use?

Of the guys shooting smoothbores in our bunch, regular Brennekes get the nod and all are accurate out at 100 yds. 2 Benellis, 1 1100, 1 Winchester pump, 1 Mossburg pump.

Rifled barrels, Savage...

RE: Hastings Shotgun Barrels

You might want to check Remington's and Hasting's websites, I think they've redone the copper solid so it can be used in the Hastings barrel.

Mine is 1 of the old ones before cantilevers but it...

RE: Slug Gun Recoil

Brownell's has recoil pads, recoil supressors which can take the place of the plug or go in the buttstock. Some are weights, some tubes of mercury, some I think may be hydraulic. Another item I...

RE: OK to remove barrel after sighting in?

If you have a cantilever mount and the scope comes off with the barrel, you would probably be ok.

If you're using a saddle mount over the receiver, then you might have a problem.

Mine has a...
