RE: How do I attract a bobcat and another question...

30-06 is a good round to pop bobcats with. I've shot several from my deer stand and didn't damage the fur much at all. Nothing a good taxidermist can't fix.

RE: Eleven does at once?

Last Sunday I hunted all day long - last day of our rifle season. Counted 24 does and 2 button bucks all together, no horns. I am sure I saw some of the same does twice, but there were at least 13...

Are whitetails wary of permanent stands?

Just wondering everyone's thoughts on permanent stands like elevated box stands that you can hunt all day in no matter the weather. Do you think whitetails eventually get use to them? Or do the big...

RE: USGS Aerial photos of your hunting land

Cord - you can start by using the advanced find feature to get you in the vicinity of somewhere you know, like a town. Find a feature you recognize then scroll the map along major roads. It can take...

RE: Tossing someone out of deer camp????'s

Don't reckon I've ever been in a real arguement at deer camp. We harass each other in good fun, drink a beer after the hunt and lie about how many deer we saw. But argueing is not something that...

RE: Any advice?

Deersniper makes some of the best points, though all points are worth listening to. My wife (married 6 years in May) hated the idea of deer hunting when we first met. I learned she was worried about...

USGS Aerial photos of your hunting land

Hey ya'll, just wanted to pass on a neat resource that has helped me locate hidden features (ponds, clearings, etc) in areas that I hunt. USGS Aerial shots of the entire US are available on-line for...

RE: Still Hunting questions

It took me many years to get it figured out, and I am still learning. I like to hunt from the ground. I get bored waiting in ambush in a deer stand. I still use them, but hunt from the ground and...

RE: best time???

I like late afternoon best as well. See more deer, especially 10 or so minutes before it is totally dark. However, I have read lots of articles that state most B&C class bucks are taken between 10am...

RE: scrape question??

Kill every hog you see. They will destroy your deer habitat quicker than pesticides. Good eat'n too if you know how to prepare 'em.

RE: What should my hunting buddy do?

You know I've boiled the hell out of them and you just can't soften those antlers enough to eat.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

RE: arkansas deer season HELP

From northwest Arkansas -&gt; I'm finding lots of rubs and a few scrapes. Witnessed rutting activity in early October - several evenings I watched bucks chase does around my pasture, but again that was...

RE: Big for South Arkansas

Well I have another one for ya, except this one is from North Ark. Rack is not much, but I shot this deer last year due to his massive body size. 185 lb. field dressed. That is a very large deer for...

RE: PHEASANT without a Dog

Codydawg - You made some good points in your postings. I wouldn't waste my time with jackel. Teenagers think they know it all and will argue about the color of the sky. I remember being one of those...

East Colorado Walk-In Access program

RE: PHEASANT without a Dog

Codydawg - good posting and good advice. I train labs for upland hunting and have four of my own very good flushers/retrievers, and yes, an occasional bird still gets away. Codydawg makes a solid...

lunchbucket - yes, all of the above. I pretty much followed the directions to a tee, and I have a ph meter. Acidity level is just right. Fertilized per the suggestions on the Imperial bag. I burned...

RE: imperial no plow

Late Sept. this year, I planted a 1/4 acre of Imperial next to a 1/4 acre of Biologic Full Draw. I disced, limed, and fertilized each plot exactly the same. The Biolgic grew and is still growing like...
