RE: Wha would you do? Elk scenario.

I'd pass on it. 450 yards is about the outer limits for me varmint hunting. I would not take a hail mary shot like that.

RE: 44 mag. pistol for elk?

I'm going to use my 454 for elk simply because I'm a better shot with handguns than rifles. I also cannot draw my bow after breaking my hand a few years ago. just remember to keep your shot within a...

RE: Ammo for .454 Casull

I shoot the same loads in my Super Redhawk as does my friend in his Freedom Arms 454. My opinion is that a 260gr partition @ 1650 fps is more than enough for any N. American big game animal. I've...

RE: Primitive weapons..Or are they?

My opinion on primitive hunting is that muzzle loaders should be side lock exposed hammers, percussion cap or flint ignition with iron sights. Bows should have one string and no wheels or cams. Hard...

RE: Muzzle brake????

Have a brake on my 338. The recoil is around 30/06 level, but the report and muzzle blast is right in your face. Not fun to shoot anymore. Hunting only. I think it cost about $160 out the door...

RE: Good 22. rifles

They sure shoot like they are bent. All the dust they have been collecting would probably ruin the aerodynamics.:D

RE: Good 22. rifles

Get the 10/22. Our Marlins (bolt and semi) are more accurate if thrown.

RE: Ruger Mini 14

I had a mini-14 ranch. Using Black Hills 55gr sp ammo it was deadly consistant on ground squirrels out to 200 yards box stock. As far as I' m concerned Ruger has the best factory support bar none. I...

RE: Boy I have seen everything now

I belive you get what you pay for to a certain point. I can not imagine spending $1000 or more for a scope. I did compare a Leupold to a Zeiss. There was a visable difference in clarity and...

RE: Anyone ever get SCARED walking into woods?

I don't get scared of the dark, lions or bears. Here in California you always take the chance of walking into some knuckleheads pot grove or meth lab.
