Since you are evidently going to a licensed preserve or club, you can use 7 1/2 shot with modified or full choke(what I use). You'll be much closer to released birds than wild birds when they flush....

We aren't in OK, but we'll give information to an interested young hunter. Our pheasant hunts are $60 for 4 pheasants released. Scratch birds (birds other hunters have left in the field) are free. ...

Missouri is a great place for the outdoorsman. In the south you'll have quick access to lots of great lakes and fishing. Also lots of deer, but I will say not near the size as you can find...
