I like the deer in velvet, but the big plus for me was having my son there and letting him hunt too. He was able to take 3 deer last year in SC when he was 6 including a nice little buck.

I have taken people out here in Maine for year. All of the above work just great. Howeb am a huge fan of .50 cal muzzleloaders. They make a big hole and people know they have one shot, make it count....

I hunt up in New Brunswick every spring. They have no color phase, but success rate are in the 90-95% range and the hunts are only about 1,000. Just food for thought.
