For me, I’d go with a .270 Winchester with one of the new 3-15X scopes. I’d shoot 110gr TTSX and 130gr TTSX and happily take all the mentioned critters with no fuss.

Muzzle brakes are extremely loud...sometimes not even allowed at some ranges. That is the only way to make a .300 RUM shoot like a .270 or .30-'06, like you claim yours does.

I didn't dodge the question. The original comparison was shooting a .270 accurately vs. shooting a .300 RUM. Without muzzle brakes and heavy modifications, there is no way to make a .300 RUM hunting...

Dead is dead. It doesn't matter if the bullet came from a .270 or a .300 RUM that has been modified so it can be shot better. No if that .300 RUM hadn't been modified, then I give the nod to the guy...
