2-7x33 makes more sense. most hunters i know put 4-12x50 with adj. obj. on there marlin .30-30win lever actions and hunt with it on 12x. just dont shoot enough to know what there doing.

if your not sure then get a .270. supposed to have less recoil than what you have now. and its 150 gr bullet goes as fast as the 243. just a thought. the .243 is stroung enough to kill a coyote so...
