RE: why a .17 caliber and not a .223 caliber?

I' ll just tell you why I got one. I am an avid squirrel hunter, and in fall when you can get 75yds+ shot the 22LR just falls short. So I decided to step up to the 17HMR. And even then the 17HMR is...

RE: 30-30 for pig and mule deer?

30-30 would do just fine. With a half way decent scope, you' ll be able to shoot 150yds with out a problem. How ever, if you need to shoot farther than that I' d suggest something along the line of a...

RE: 3 round burst group size?

I shoot a full auto M16-A2 today. It was converted to 22lr. The gun had bassicaly no recoil, and very little muzzle climb. I kept 3 shots with in about 4 inches at 50yds. I also shot an MP-5, and for...

RE: which .17 rifle

I got an NEF. I paid $140 for it and I love it. Most of the time I line up a bunch of 22 lr cases a pick them off at about 30yds, and thats an easy shot for this gun.

RE: I got a new 10/22

Congrats on the 10/22! They are by far the best semi-auto 22 on the market today. If you want a hi-cap mag, your gonna have to pay a pretty penny due to the AWB and Brady Bill. A 25 or 30rd mag will...

RE: what do you use a 9mm rifle for?

Last year I shot a fox squirrel in the sholder. When I got to him, he was still alive enough to crawl. So I shot him point blank in the head witha 22lr, and he was still breathing heavy. Did that two...

I think they are producing them as fast as they can. They are selling out faster than they can make em. As soon as CCI and Remington get there productions up to speed you' ll see alot more of em.

RE: How come I never....

Yes they do, but what I' m saying is, even you you can load the 22 hornet to LR velocitys, it isn' t as pratical as just using a 22. Maybe if you only shoot it once a year or for squirrels....

RE: How come I never....

Actually its called the 17 HMR. It might be just as accurate as the 22 mag at 100, but at 200yds its no contest, the 17 has it beat.

RE: My 12 ga slug-gun

Bigcounty is right. Your looking at 6-8" groups if you are lucky. A smoothbore slug gun is best at 50yds. If you need to be able to shoot at 100yds, get a rifled barrel.

RE: How come I never....

He might have a 50 BMG rifle. It is very possible to take 1000 yds shots with one, and the range of a 50 BMG is quite further than that.
