Even if you don't smoke, it is a very good idea to bring a pack of cigarettes (even if they are old) with your fire source, it can aid in starting a good fire for warmth or signal.

Sounds like the taurus is the good choice, especially for the money. I also like the frame mounted safety. But i think i'm going to have to have more excuses than snakes to have a pistol [>:]
