Hate to break it to you but nobody is going to bring you onto private land they have permission for. Most are even hesitant to point people towards any public land. These days the hardest part of...

I couldn't agree more! Deer cause thousands of dollars in damage annually to crops, coyotes eat pets and livestock, landowners have dozens of acres of bush they've never touched... Yet landowners...

Thanks! Yeah definitely getting permission is nearly impossible down here. During spring turkey I called over 200 properties and only got permission for 2 small heavily hunted properties... Luckily...

Definitely. It took me years to pattern deer ages in my region. People always have their go-to methods for aging deer but the reality is the only way is to send a tooth to ministry.

Good move by taking this guy instead, you don't get to choose in the woods. Now it's time to go for the bigger one! If you have any tags left of course lol.

As far as hunting, I've had a fun and successful year. I've hunted both fall black bear and whitetail. All animals were taken with Scorpyd Aculeus 460 with Killer Instinct Lumix Speedring optic....

I know first hand how hard public land hunting can be, and it's even harder to find mature bucks in them let alone in the day light. Good job! Seeing him at 10 yards must've almost gave you a heart...

That's easily a 3 year old deer, no less. Not mature yet but not a 2 year old for sure. Large bodied with a small (but not tiny) 8-point rack is typical of a 3 year old deer in the north.

Congrats! Personally I think of a bare 30-30 marlin lever action to be the perfect deer rifle. Really easy to use, accurate, reliable, light weight and less cumbersome than most deer rifles with...

We didn't see as much as a single deer was seen since that day. So we decide to hunt for bucks in a different WMU in a large private bush we know to hold large bucks, but is hard to hunt. Before 5PM...

My 2020 archery Whitetail season. Including my biggest buck.

I've had many successful archery seasons that I was grateful to have. But this one is my best one so far. All these were taken with a Scorpyd Aculeus 460 with a Killer Instinct Lumix speedring optic....

Basic hunting etiquette. Don't move. Now deer might not be able to see small movement through extremely thick brush like a turkey. A deers eyesight works like this: bad depth and colour perception...

Lumix speedring 5x32 by killer instinct. Only $120 and easily the best scope I've used, replaced my Hawke for it. Gives a nice wide angle view even on high velocity crossbows, and is VERY good in low...

Scorpyd Aculeus seriously underrated.

I have had massive recent success with the scorpyd aculeus 460. I took a clear shot at a 180lb buck quartering towards me at 70 yards. The bolt busted through his shoulder and did a full...

I use a scorpyd aculeus 460 and shot a few at 40 yards. I've taken a turkey at 65 yards and I've sighted it in to 80. So I'd be confident shooting 80.

Don't stress yourself too much on scoring. It's a pretty flawed system to begin with as you can have a buck with over 10 points and an excess of 230lbs easily score relatively low while a buck that's...

Age my buck? + how did your season go?

I was lucky enough to have a successful season this year, I managed to score a 140lb doe and a 230lb 11 point (1 broken brow tine but still 1 1/4" long) on the same day. Also managed to score a 140lb...

I found that the Hawke XB30 has poor peripherals when dealing with higher velocity crossbows, even at 40 yards all you're seeing is deer fur if you can find it. I'm also not a fan of the fact not all...
