A good heavy carbon without the need for weight tubes is the cabelas outfitter series 45/60(carbon express). They weigh around 13grains/inch. Cost less than $60 /dozen bare shafts.

I shot his hog today at 12 yards with a barely 40lb. recurve and 355 grain arrows with magnus 125 broadhead. I figure it weighs 300 plus pounds

My Marlin .30-.30 is a great shooting open sight gun. This new soft tip pointed load (lever evolution) on the left is awesome.

Thanks LBR, The compound bow will not even get out of the case this hunting season:D. I will even take a recurve when I hunt axis deer in January.

Welcome to thee trad. forum. I will be using a Red Wing hunter for whitetail this year. I have a 29" draw, mine does stack a bit past 28. Your brace height should be 8 to 8.5.

String length question

Any idea what length of string for a 58" recurve. What about brace height? The one that came with it is a little less than 54" endless loop. Not near as sweet as one of LBR's flemish twists.

I went from sideplates to a custom full grip at the same time I installed the STS. Once I was use to the new grip I put the sts back on, cut the rod and tried it in every possible...

I will elaborate but keep in mind this is an evaluation with my equipment, and is just my opinion. If the product works for you and your setup /shooting style then I say go for it.
