I always start soft then get louder. A lot of times I hold off if I am not hearing anything I will try to call a few times at most when the birds are silent.

Most of those types of hunts are very tough physically and metally. I have done it 3 times myself. If you want comfort it's best to do an African Hunt or a deer hunt in the midwest.

Variety is always good. Soybeans don't last where I live. I planted over and an acre of soybeans and the deer hit them pretty hard. Ended up planting oats afterwards because there was nothing left.

Doesn't bother me but I do have a couple of tripod stands that have sides on them. Keeps the wind and the rain off your head and you still get the visibility.
