Those things happen sometimes.

A few years ago, I shot a nice doe with a Muzzy MX-4. The deer went face first into the ground, got up, ran a bit, went face first again, and ran away through the...

RE: 6.5x55 swedish - anyone?

I'm loading up 125gr Partitions now, over H4350. I've heard a lot of good things about the 125, I'll let you know how it works out.

RE: SHOTGUN: shooting non-saboted slugs thru a rifled barrel

BC,
Sounds great! I haven't been up to Happ Baker for quite a while. Nice setup there.
I have a new scope to mount on the Mossberg. I bought a Bushnell, made for cantilever scope mount shotguns....

RE: SHOTGUN: shooting non-saboted slugs thru a rifled barrel

Bigcountry,
I'm shooting a plain old Mossberg 500, and the Federal 1oz foster slugs. The other guy is shooting Winchester slugs, and I believe a Remington shotgun. He was the one who first asked me...

RE: SHOTGUN: shooting non-saboted slugs thru a rifled barrel

I've never heard anything bad about shooting rifled slugs through a rifle barrel. Before the sabots came around, the rifled barrel was the step up in accuracy for the foster slugs.
I went back to...

Picked up the Howa yesterday!

I went up to PA yesterday and picked up my Howa that was ordered. I got the 6.5x55mm. I probably won't be able to get out and shoot until next weekend, so I'll let everyone know then how it does. I...

RE: HOWA 300Win Mag???

Matthews,
I think that you got a very good deal. I just picked up a Howa in 6.5x55 yesterday, in blued/synthetic, for $379, and that was a pretty good price for around here.

New toy on order!

I just ordered a Howa 1500, chambered in 6.5x55mm. I've heard so many great things about this caliber, I just had to try it. It's going to be a long week!

New 6.5X55 rifles

What companies market rifles in the 6.5X55 Swedish round? I believe that I saw a Winchester in it, and of course, Sako. Any others? This particular bullet has gotten my interest up.

RE: Which is more punishing on a Scope: a 7mm-08 or 12gauge/Blackpowder?

I've never heard of "a different kind of recoil". The slug gun is going to kick a lot more than the 7-08, so I would say that you'll be fine. The only difference is that most scopes for shotguns and...
