RE: Help me Pick out a new Shotgun

For a pump, the Nova is tought to beat.
If you like autos, and can live without 3.5" MAGNUMS, Take a look at the Stoeger 2000. I got mine for $410 after discounts (was on sale for $430) I is a...

RE: REM VS MOSSBERG SHOTGUN

DG is right. The Remmington name will hold better value. For ME, I have never bought a gun I thought I might sell someday, so re-sale value doesn't mean much to me.
Both guns will do all you ask of...

While the Mossberg is a bit more gruff looking (and perhaps feeling) They are VERY tough guns. I have used the 835 with great results. I also have a Mossberg 500 that I bought used somewhere around...

RE: Let's define what we are feeling....shall we? :-)

Agreed...we disagree :)
Now like I said, heavier arrows add recoil, but reduce perception because:
a) the recoil is spread out over more time
b) do to the firing cycle taking longer (i.e. slower)...

Those bows (the patriot especially) have quite a bit of forward bias to start with compared to most other bows. Also, shorter bows ARE more sensative to putting larger sights on.

RE: Let's define what we are feeling....shall we? :-)

I do agree that limb size, weight and position are part of the recoiul equasion.
A heavier arrow won't reduce the amount of recoil...but will increase the time that recoil is applied. Giving a...

Also I believe that a large mushy wall is better for purpose made back tension releases. These need a bit of movement to go off. Bows with large mushy valleys are a bit more forgiving of over and/or...

That could very well be....just not what I have found with MY arrows.
Did you try turning the arrows 180 degrees to find that weak plane on the other side?

RE: Let's define what we are feeling....shall we? :-)

I would define recoil a little differently.
Recoil is NOT the jump a bow makes when shot. The jump is an after effect caused by the grip of the bow being below the plane of recoil. Both in guns and...

RE: broadhead and vane allignment?

Brace height is much like using an over draw or standard hole. The overdraw is less forgiving as the arrow is still on the string when it's very close to the rest. this makes nock height and center...
