Duck hunting has been good/Oregon

We had freezing rain Saturday but the birds were thick! I had my limit in less than 30 minutes! Mallards, widgeon and green wing teal. This is my first year with my 1 year old Lab "Dakota"...

Wont make a bit of difference unless you are trying to sell them for top dollar. I had a lab with a white spot on his chest, doesnt make them any better or worse.

Put your duck decoys in kind of a J shape with the open end down wind. Put your geese decoys up wind of the duck decoys and off to one side 20 yards or so and in family bunchs. put a pintail or two...

I use a camo line from Bimart, old scrap gears and sprockets from work [small ones] and put a rubber band thing that the wife uses on her hair to wrap around the neck when I wind up the cord.

I have found that a dog that is kenneled or chained and not released often will be hyper. I have the invisible fence and that works great. My Lab was hyper till she was 1 year old.

I shoot in my hay field alot and have lost quite a few arrows and hasnt hurt a thing. I borrowed a guys metal detector once and found several. I feed my hay to my horse and never have had a problem....
