RE: Gobble dot sight

That's weird, maybe the sight you bought was faulty, I love my tru-glo sights, they are bright as can be in all light conditions.

RE: I like it tight!

Earlier I posted that the Tru-glo remchoke had a restriction of .695, but i meant a .665 diameter restriction.

RE: choke / shot testing

Me and my buddies always get together and have a patterning session at the beginning of each spring. Usually each of us has a different choke tube, so if we like the results with one we can go buy...

RE: I like it tight!

Haha, your comedy 10 point, I was thinking the same thing. Hahahaha.

Anyway, I shoot a Tru-glo choke which I believe is .695 throws a very tight pattern.

RE: Harvest times?

I have two favorites. One is right off the roost, if a bird is really hot and comes right in just after fly-down, struttin and gobbling his head off. Second is when nothing is going right and...

RE: do 4 wheelers scare them away?

I usually hunt 1st and 4th season. 1st being because then you get the first knock at them and they are less call-shy than any other time, 4th season because it is the longest and the most weekends....

RE: Camping out??

We have a cabin near the property we hunt so that's where we stay. There is a public area near though and many turkey hunters camp out there all the time. It's right down in the middle of the rolling...

RE: Beat time to hunt turkey

I recommend the Knight & Hale gobbler guide. It explains how the turkeys go through different transitions every 15 days or so and where and when in the US. It explains what they are going to do, act...

What is the best brand for an owl hooter out there? I've bought 2, and neither seem very loud or realistic. Any recommendations?

RE: do 4 wheelers scare them away?

It doesn't scare them much at all, neither does driving through the field in a truck. Turkeys see farmers driving through fields everyday and they are used to it. They will probably head for cover if...

RE: LOG ROADS ???????

I hunt logging roads alot. Turkeys use them alot because they are easy to walk on and gobblers use them as strutting areas to so they can be out in the open where the hens can see them. They are...

RE: Use your ears!

I have a couple stories to further illustrate this point. Two years ago, after a couple un-successful setups just after fly-down, I wondered onto this ridge where I thought I had heard some gobbling...

RE: what's your choice in camo patterns?

I used to use Mossy-Oak break up, but it looks very dark at a distance. I have switched to Advantage Timber for deer and turkeys and Advantage wetlands for ducks and geese. I heard realtree is coming...

I haven't heard that call, but I'm impressed with the Shippwreck 2 mouth call. It sounds really good. I've heard the Mark Drury turkey hunting videos and very good, anyone know?

RE: Too tight of a pattern?

I have a tru-glo choke on my 870, but don't have a scope, rather a gobbledot tru-glo sight, the realy bright red and green ones. At 10 yards, would this sight be accurate enough to pop that gobbler...

RE: Just wondering: What's your biggest gobbler?
