RE: Savage 22-250

I have the Mod 12FVSS in .223 and I agree with Mainehunt...don't see a reason to go 22-250 over 223 really. Either way...the 12FVSS is a great gun. I love the accu-trigger.

RE: Hunting rifle

For the hunter on a budget, hard to go wrong with a Savage. For 30-06, you'd want the Savage 111F for synthetic stock and 111G for wood stock--they are virtually the same price. Andthey both come...

RE: was out looking for some early sheds and (looking for opinions)

Tabby,

Where'd you hunt up here in NW PA? Are you originally from this area?

I'd say he got hit by a car. I would think he'd have visible wounds if it was a buck fight.

well...if you plan to shoot a lot, 9mm ammo can be found considerably cheaper than 45 ammo. that's worth considering

RE: Is .243 enough for aussie big boars??

I'm gonna say if you used the "ULTRA Core Locts, with the bonded core, you'd be just fine on boars. In my experience, the 243 has similar stopping power at very close ranges as the 30-30, and at...

RE: 218bee, 219zipper or 22hornet??? Help!

I'm a firm believer in buying a nice gun and shooting cheap. That's why I'm an advocate of the 223. Of the 3 choices you gave, I'd buy the 22 Hornet. Then I'd trade it for a 223 !!! <img...

RE: .223 balistics

Sorry, I didn't read your whole post.

If you want dead on at 150, I'm going to say that you should hit about 1/2" low at 25 yards.

This would put you maybe 1/4" high at 50, 3/4" inch high at...

RE: If you could hunt at night.....
